Camp Minocqua
Minocqua, Wisconsin · Since 1905 · No longer operating
A boys camp on Lake Tomahawk, started by a doctor who came north to look at sites before the ice was off the water. Chicago families sent their sons up by train, and by the 1940s the local papers noted the special cars arriving at the start of a season. The camp is no longer running. Its records survive in a university collection, which is how much of this is known.
